OUR STORY
Grata Garden is a naturalistic residential and retail floral styling studio founded by Tessa Collins, based in Newport Beach, California.
Tessa studied Studio Art at the University of California, Irvine, where she developed an eye for color, composition, and form.
While her early work focused on painting, she was drawn to a more tangible, organic medium, something that could be experienced within a space.
Flowers were both accessible and transformative. Rooms felt more alive with them, shaping an atmosphere where people naturally became more at ease, engaged, and connected.
While living in Venice, CA, Tessa executed residential and retail floral installations, with work spanning private homes, boutiques, and wellness spaces from Beverly Hills to the Pacific Palisades.
Inspired by wellness, and the power of botanicals - Tessa went on to complete a year long apprenticeship, studying herbalism. After her year long study, she worked on an organic and regenerative farm, where she worked with organically grown flowers to create unique floral arrangements for property events, and farm shop.
Grata Garden was founded to capsule Tessa’s naturalistic approach to environments. Her design aesthetic is shaped by the unrefined, natural qualities found along coastal trails, and the wild beauty found in the garden.
Today, she offers bespoke environmental design services. Coming soon- GRATA GOODS, which will feature expertly blended herbal infusions, and curated objects.
Grata Garden’s bouquet offerings can be found exclusively at Birdie’s Bodega, in Costa Mesa, CA.
